Endometriosis Excision Using the Da Vinci Robot
Dr. Coronado uses robotic assisted surgery to remove endometriosis which is causing pain and problems with fertility.
The instructional videos shows how to remove the endometriosis by removing the peritoneum. The body will create new, fresh peritoneum, without the endometriosis.
Removing the tissue allows for a biopsy to prove the endometriosis for insurance companies and further diagnosis.
Dr. Coronado prefers robotic assisted excision over the traditional laparoscopy due to the 3-dimensional view allowed that improves visibility and clearer identification of the endometriosis.
As a last step in the excision, Dr. Coronado runs blue dye through the fallopian tubes to assure there is no scarring and to make sure the patient will not have fertility issues.
