Dr. Michelle Rasmussen is an OBGYN who is committed to serving the Plano community. She strives to get to know each of her patients on a personal level to provide the highest quality of individualized care. She recognizes how important it is to feel heard and wants to empower patients with information that can assist them in making informed decisions regarding their care.
She completed her bachelor’s degree at Washington University in St. Louis while playing collegiate soccer. She was involved in research at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, and has several publications. She received both her Master’s Degree in Physiology and her Medical Doctorate at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. She graduated from residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine, where she was awarded “Outstanding Clinical Science Educator” from the medical school due to her passion for teaching others. She aims to continue to provide comprehensive and compassionate care with Women’s Specialists of Plano.
She specializes in the full spectrum of women’s health, including obstetrical care and deliveries, contraception counseling, sexual health, menopause and well-woman exams. She is skilled in both robotic and laparoscopic surgery.
While originally from the Midwest, she is thrilled to now call Plano her home. She recently gave birth to a son and she and her husband moved to Texas to be near their extended family, who reside in the Dallas area. Outside of medicine, she enjoys soccer, traveling, working out, and exploring all that Plano has to offer.
