Pregnancy Guide

All of us here at Women’s Specialists of Plano share in the joy of this pregnancy with you. We want you to be informed, prepared, skillfully cared for, and emotionally supported every step of the way. Please use this website to help you make informed decisions, reduce your anxieties, and prepare for office visits.

Your First Visit

Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time in order to complete the necessary paperwork. To prepare for your visit please visit our patient portal. You can expect your first visit to last 90 minutes or more.

Optional Testing

As a service to our patients we offer the highest level of screening to test for birth defects if you choose to have these tests performed. There are multiple birth defects that are eligible for screening during your visit.

Prenatal Visit and Ultrasound Schedule

Typically, there will be 8-12 pre-natal check-ups during your pregnancy unless a high risk condition warrants more frequent monitoring. In order to know what to expect at each visit, we have provided a general timeline for the course of your pregnancy.

Safe Medications

While no medications have been tested on pregnant women, many have been used with such frequency that we feel comfortable recommending them to relieve symptoms. You can take the medication according to the package instructions. Always feel free to call us and speak to a nurse about concerns or questions.

During office hours, please call the office at (972) 379-2416 and speak to a nurse. If you need an appointment, they will get you right in or answer your questions.
