Female Sexual Dysfunction Overview
Female sexual dysfunction refers to any sexual problem that might occur during any phase of activity—including stimulation, intercourse, orgasm and the period of time after intercourse has ended. Although more than 43% of women will experience sexual dysfunction at one time or another, many are hesitant to open up about the problem. Most cases of female sexual dysfunction are caused by stress, anxiety, depression, aging or by the use of certain drugs. The good news is that for many, this condition is treatable. It is important for a woman to find a doctor she feels comfortable with so that she can have an open and ongoing discussion about her sexual problems.
