Dr. Chikara Foster-Rettig
Dr. Chikara Foster-Rettig is a native of Dallas, Texas with familial roots in Nigeria. She obtained her undergraduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, her medical doctorate from the University Health Science Center San Antonio, and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. She strives to educate her patients and equip them with the knowledge to help navigate their medical journey. She strongly believes the mind, body, and spirit should be aligned in order to have complete healing, so she enjoys helping her patients through this process.
Dr. Foster-Rettig has led medical mission trips to the Rio Grande Valley and Ecuador. She has also conducted research on infertility and obstetrical outcomes, which have been published in peer-review journals. In medical school she was an award recipient for her exemplary, compassionate care towards women.
She cares for women throughout all stages of life, including preadolescence, perinatal, and menopause. She has a passion for adolescent gynecology, sexual health, STD prevention, breastfeeding,
She enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and son. She is passionate about the outdoors, fitness, dancing, singing, and has a strong spiritual faith.

I found her in a FB group last year and I do NOT regret my decision to visit her office. Her bedside manner is the BEST of any other OBGYN in the area. I found Dr Foster-Rettig halfway through my pregnancy in search of an OB that would listen to my concerns and make me feel comfortable with giving birth via c section. She is hands down the best OB I have ever had in my entire life! She is knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful, gives you the time you need to share your concerns and treats you like family! Dr. Foster-Rettig is beyond amazing. She recommended tests for me that no other physician ever mentioned. She’s honest and transparent with her patients. I recommend her to anyone who’s searching for an OB-GYN. She’s very knowledgeable and makes sure her patient leave with much understanding. I was a first time patient at this facility. Dr Foster was very patient and caring and provided the information that I needed concerning my health. She is very kind and cares about your ultimate well being. I'm happy with selecting her as my new doctor and will be recommending her to my family and friends.
I decided to go back to her for my 2nd pregnancy. I wish I would've made that decision much SOONER. She has been amazing and I am so grateful that she will be completing my 2nd C-Section.
